Innovation Park @ Notre Dame

The Innovation Park at Notre Dame (IP@ND) will be located in a 12-acre area on the south side of Edison Street immediately south of the Notre Dame campus and adjacent to the major redevelopment effort underway in that area.

The IP@ND will be contained within a larger Certified Technology Park district. The IP@ND will eventually include 160,000 gross square feet of newly constructed, secure, Class A office and laboratory space. It is anticipated that this space will be distributed among four two-story buildings with approximately 40,000 gross square feet in each building and that the buildings will be built sequentially as demand for the space develops. The architectural standards of the IP@ND will be commensurate with the "New Urbanism" style of the "Walkable College Town" being created as part of the larger redevelopment effort.

Tenants in the park are expected to include:

          •  Larger companies that perceive benefit in having liaison offices and or collaborative
laboratory space adjacent to Notre Dame and that have, or wish to have, a research
relationship with the University of Notre Dame, the Indiana University School of Medicine -
South Bend, or one of the other colleges of the region.
          •  Start-up companies based upon intellectual property or business models emerging from Notre
Dame or one of the other colleges of the region.

Changing global economic realities require that the Michiana region have some competitive advantage if we are to succeed economically. In support of an "innovation economy," the mission of the Research Park at Notre Dame will be to:

  • provide access to the full range of facilities and services needed to stimulate an increased flow of technology and business concept innovations from the research assets of the region, and

  • to move those innovations into the commercial marketplace to the benefit of the Michiana economy.
